Farm History

Shelley and Gary live on their century family farm in the Missouri River Bottoms near Farley, Mo. The vegetable business is an extension of their traditional farming operation. The farm has been in the Oberdiek family for several generations, since they came to America from Germany. Originally, the family sold logs off the property until it was open enough to farm. Since then, the Oberdieks have been growing corn, soybeans, tobacco and hogs.

We sell locally grown fruits and vegetables, specializing in sweet corn, strawberries and tomatoes, and have recently begun growing and selling tuber roses at Parkville Farmer’s Market, The City Market, & The Leavenworth Farmer’s Market.
